Unsaid is a daily word game in ChatGPT: you see a secret word and five forbidden words, you give clues, and ChatGPT guesses. Here is how to play and what to do when something goes wrong.

Playing

  • Start: in ChatGPT, say "Let's play Unsaid" (or "Unsaid oynayalım" for Turkish). The card shows your word and its forbidden words.
  • Clues: up to 5 clues of up to 10 words each. Type them in the card: it checks the clue before ChatGPT sees it and tells you if a forbidden word slipped in. You can also type clues in the chat.
  • Score: when ChatGPT gets the word, your score is the number of clue words you used. Fewer is better.
  • Practice: say "Give me an Unsaid practice word" for extra words that don't count toward your streak (up to 30 a day).
  • Streak: say "What's my Unsaid streak?"

Rules for clues

  • Don't use the secret word or any forbidden word, in any form: plurals and other endings, Turkish suffixes (kitap → kitabı, kitapçı), compounds built on them, spelling them out, or the word in the other language.
  • In the card, a clue that breaks a rule just isn't sent: fix it and try again. Typed in the chat, a clue with a forbidden word is void and costs a clue, and one that says the secret word ends the game.

If something goes wrong

What you see What to do
"This card has expired" Ask ChatGPT to open Unsaid again; your game is still there.
The card doesn't send your clue Copy it from the card and paste it in the chat.
ChatGPT guessed without using Unsaid, or guessed twice Only Unsaid's guess counts. Say "Use Unsaid to check that guess" or give your next clue.
The checker refused a clue you think is fine Rephrase it, and tell us at support@theopenapps.com so we can fix the checker.
